The Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers is a local fly fishing club established in 1992 to advance the knowledge and enjoyment of saltwater fly fishing in both local and distant waters, and to provide a forum for beginner and novice fly fishers to expand their knowledge and experience. We promote fly-fishing for our spouses and children, and we introduce fishermen and non-fishermen alike to the sport of fly casting and fly tying. The club became a Charter chapter of The Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) in 2005. We meet monthly to hear, and see, of new fishing locations world wide, learn new casting techniques, hear of environmental and fishing law enforcement issues, learn on site about Snook breeding programs, see fly tying demonstrations, and generally just have a good time talking about fishing with other fishermen. We have occasional fishing outings, and inter club fishing trips, and one annual fund raising banquet. This club also offers a Boy Scout Fly Fishing Merit Badge. To learn more, click here... The entrance to Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota is located on Clark Road, just east of I-75, on the south (right) side of the road. From I-75, Clark Road is Rte. 72. Once you've entered the Park, look for the Green Building. Enter by the RIGHT DOOR to our meeting.
